Private boxing training in Stratford: the quick answer

I offer appointment-only boxing personal training around Stratford, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East Village and Hackney Wick, subject to your postcode and my availability. We can work on padwork, footwork, boxing technique and fitness at an agreed outdoor space, your home or a suitable private gym.

A standard private session lasts 60 minutes and costs £95. Ten sessions cost £850; twenty cost £1,500. You can start as a complete beginner, and sparring is not required. Send your postcode and preferred times so we can agree a practical location before you book.

Stratford · E20 · Hackney Wick

Where can we train around Olympic Park?

The best meeting point is the one you can reach consistently and where there is enough suitable space to train. Rather than arranging to meet somewhere vague “in the park”, we agree the exact spot in advance, taking account of access, the surface, weather and other people using the space.

Stratford & Olympic Park

For clients living or working near Stratford, Westfield or the southern side of the park, we can discuss a convenient outdoor meeting point or an appropriate private space nearby. Training is arranged individually; this is not a walk-in gym at the stadium or Aquatics Centre.

East Village

If you live in East Village, a suitable home or residents’ gym may make regular training easier. Let me know what space you have and whether your building allows an external personal trainer.

Hackney Wick & Fish Island

Private padwork and boxing fitness can be arranged near home or work where the location is suitable. We need clear space for movement; a busy canal towpath or bridge is not a training area.

Bow, Leyton & nearby areas

If you are a little further away, send your full postcode. Availability depends on travel time and how the session fits the diary, so we confirm the location before taking a booking.

Outdoor sessions depend on a suitable agreed space and any venue permissions. Indoor options require permission for external coaching. Boxing Trainer London is an independent mobile service, with no claimed affiliation to the park’s venues.

For park maps, visitor information and current events, see the official Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park website. For other locations, visit London training areas.

Start at your level

Beginner boxing lessons without pressure to spar

You do not need to get fit before your first lesson. We start with how to stand, move and throw a controlled punch, then build the pace around you. If you feel awkward at first, that is normal: learning a skill takes repetition and clear feedback.

Learn proper technique

Practise stance, guard, the jab and cross, then add combinations and defensive movement as your balance improves. Pads give you a target; coaching helps you understand what to correct.

Build boxing fitness

Combine technical rounds with appropriate strength, core and conditioning work. Rest periods and exercise choices can change as your fitness develops.

Return with confidence

If you have boxed before, we can identify what needs attention: footwork, distance, timing, combinations or maintaining technique as you tire.

One-to-one coaching suits women and men who want individual attention, including nervous beginners and people returning after time away. Read the guide to starting boxing for more on the basics.

What you actually do

An example 60-minute boxing PT session

Every lesson is adapted to your starting point. This is an example of how a beginner session could run, rather than a fixed workout that everyone must complete.

Stage
What we work on
Purpose
0–10 minutes
Warm-up, mobility, stance and simple stepping.
Get moving and establish balance before harder work.
10–25 minutes
Jab, cross, guard recovery and footwork, with coaching between short rounds.
Build accurate punches without rushing through the basics.
25–45 minutes
Padwork combinations and movement drills, with rests adjusted to your level.
Connect technique, coordination and boxing fitness.
45–55 minutes
Suitable strength, resistance-band or core exercises.
Support the demands of your training.
55–60 minutes
Ease down, review the main coaching points and agree the next focus.
Leave knowing what you are improving.

Progress is more than how exhausted you feel. We can track whether your stance stays balanced, your punches return to guard, you remember combinations and you maintain technique through a round. More experienced clients can spend longer on technical detail and demanding padwork.

Choose the format that fits

Boxing classes in Stratford or private coaching?

If you searched for boxing classes in Stratford, the useful first decision is whether you want a public timetable or a session arranged around you. Both can work well. My service focuses on private coaching, with shared sessions for friends, partners or colleagues by arrangement.

Your priority
A group class or boxing club
Private coaching with Paul
Individual attention
You share the coach’s attention with the group.
The session is planned around your technique, fitness and goals.
Where and when
You attend the gym or club at its advertised times.
We agree a suitable location and a time that is available.
Training environment
A club may offer bags, a ring, training partners and a regular community.
Mobile training centres on pads, movement and portable session equipment.
Competition or sparring
A suitable boxing club can provide a pathway and appropriate partners.
Private technical work can support preparation, but an outdoor PT session is not a substitute for a club’s competition pathway.
Training with a friend
Book places in the same class.
Arrange a private shared session: £110 total for two people.

If you mainly want to learn technique and build fitness, pads and movement give us plenty to work on without contact sparring. Explore boxing classes and private training options if you are still deciding which format suits you.

Home, park or residents’ gym: practical details

Equipment & clothing

I bring pads and session equipment. Wear comfortable training clothes and suitable trainers, and bring water. We can confirm gloves and wraps before your first booking.

Your preferred time

Tell me which days and times you can manage, and whether you have some flexibility. Early mornings, lunch breaks and evenings depend on the diary; no regular Stratford time slot is promised on this page.

Wet weather & winter

Agree a weather plan before booking outdoors. A suitable indoor space may be an option where access is permitted. The location needs enough light, room and a safe surface for the planned session.

Your first enquiry

Send your postcode, experience, goals, preferred times and whether you want to train alone or with someone else. That gives me enough detail to suggest a practical next step.

If travel or availability makes an in-person session difficult, live online personal training is another option.
