The Short Answer
An online boxing coach teaches and corrects your boxing live over video rather than simply sending you a workout to follow alone.
Paul can see your stance, guard, balance, footwork, punch mechanics and movement, then change the drill or explanation while you train. Sessions can also include shadowboxing, boxing fitness, bodyweight strength, mobility, core work and conditioning. The result is structured online personal training with genuine technical coaching and direct accountability.
Flexible, Private Coaching
Online coaching is particularly useful when you want expert instruction but travel, location, work or family commitments make regular gym sessions difficult. You do not need previous boxing experience or exceptional fitness to start.
Starting Properly
Learn stance, guard, footwork and punches privately, at a pace that builds confidence without the pressure of joining a class.
Training Around Work
Use a suitable room, office gym or home setup without adding a journey to an already demanding schedule.
Consistency Away
Keep a consistent coaching relationship while working abroad, moving between cities or training from hotel accommodation.
Access From Anywhere
Train with Paul from elsewhere in the UK or internationally, subject to a suitable connection, space and mutually agreed time.
Live, Not Prerecorded
Start by telling Paul about your goals, training history, current fitness, available space, equipment and anything that may affect exercise. He can then confirm availability and plan the first session around what can be coached safely and effectively on camera.
01
Share your goals, experience, availability, space and equipment so Paul can confirm the right starting point.
02
Position your phone, tablet or laptop so Paul can see your feet, guard and full movement area.
03
Paul demonstrates, watches, corrects and adjusts the drills while you are moving—not after the session has ended.
04
Finish with clear technical priorities or suitable drills to practise before the next agreed session.
What Works on Camera
A camera cannot replace physical padwork or sparring, but it is highly useful for the solo skills that underpin both: stance, balance, movement, clean punch mechanics, defensive positions, rhythm and repeatable conditioning.
| Coaching Area | Suitable Online | How It Is Coached |
|---|---|---|
| Stance, guard and balance | Yes | Full-body camera view, demonstrations and position corrections. |
| Footwork and movement | Yes | Controlled steps, pivots, direction changes and balance checks. |
| Punch technique and combinations | Yes | Slow technical repetitions, shadowboxing rounds and live corrections. |
| Fitness, strength and conditioning | Yes | Bodyweight or available equipment, selected for your level and space. |
| Padwork, contact drills and sparring | No | These require a suitable in-person coach, equipment and controlled environment. |
Online coaching is honest about its limits. Paul will not pretend shadowboxing is the same as hitting pads or working with a live partner. For clients who can sometimes train in London, online and in-person sessions can also be combined.
A Structured Session
The exact structure changes with your goals and experience. The example below shows how a 60-minute session can combine technical learning with a meaningful workout without becoming a random circuit.
Prepare
Joint preparation, posture, light footwork and controlled movement relevant to the session ahead.
Learn
Stance, guard, footwork, a selected punch or defensive action, then combinations appropriate to your level.
Apply
Shadowboxing rounds with instructions, corrections and changes based on what Paul sees in real time.
Build
Bodyweight, core, mobility or available equipment work followed by a controlled review and cool-down.
Simple Home Setup
You can begin without boxing equipment. The priority is a safe, well-lit movement area and a stable camera position that allows Paul to see your full body.
A phone, tablet or laptop with Zoom or FaceTime and a reliable connection for live video and sound.
Enough non-slip floor space to extend your arms and take a controlled step in each direction without obstacles.
Place the device far enough away and around waist-to-chest height so your feet, hands and posture remain visible.
A skipping rope, mat, resistance bands or dumbbells can be included when appropriate, but none is required to start.
Choose the Right Format
Neither format is automatically better for every goal. Online training offers access and flexibility; in-person coaching adds pads, physical distance management and partner-based work.
| Format | Best For | Main Strength | Main Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live online coaching | Beginners, home training, travel, technique, fitness and consistency. | Private expert access without travel. | No pads, contact or live partner drills. |
| In-person coaching | Padwork, distance, timing, defensive reactions and competition preparation. | Physical feedback and partner-based practice. | Requires a suitable London location and travel time. |
| Hybrid coaching | Clients who visit London occasionally or travel frequently. | Combines online consistency with occasional padwork. | Needs advance scheduling for in-person sessions. |
